WHERE TO START

atarchitecture is a full-service architectural practice. We have the experience and capability to offer all architectural services including feasibility assessment, sketch design, design development, documentation for development application & construction certificate, full & detailed documentation, specification writing, construction attendance services and contract administration. Currently the bulk of our work is residential in nature, but with a combined experience exceeding 45 years, we have individually been involved with and/or managed many other project types including commercial, aged care, health care, special care, educational and institutional projects ranging in value from less than $500K to more than $150M. 

Home Owners

The entire building process can be a very daunting task for the uninitiated. Besides the design process there is an intricate maze of bureaucracy & the approval processes to wade through and some of the terminology & jargon is foreign to those not in the building industry. Then after all the approvals are obtained and the documentation is complete the building process begins which can be a very stressful time for many clients.

Here at atarchitecture we offer a free, initial, no obligation consultation to meet with you at your home, to get a feel for your brief and to begin explaining the whole process to you.

Some people just want some verbal ideas (ideas are free), others want some preliminary sketches, most want at least a DA and others like us to help them right through the entire process until they move into their new home. We can tailor our service to do as little or as much as you desire.

Developers

We offer developers an initial free service to provide a starting point for feasibility assessment of the potential of a development site. Among our service this includes:

  • Preliminary review of LEP controls and key DCP controls

  • A "desktop site visit" using Google Earth

  • Discussions with the developer regarding brief, expected yields, etc

  • Desktop site analysis

  • Numerical analysis of potential site yield / apartment mix, etc

  • A brief emailed report

No drawing work is included but the above process & info can often set a strong framework to assess the broad financial feasibility of a project before we put pen to paper.
